A foundry in Pennsylvania needs a metallurgist to solve technical problems in the plant. Working in the Quality as the Quality Manager, you will identify and solve metallurgical problems in the production process. Help sales and customers determine their technical requirements.
Provide technical support to production, maintenance, and engineering. Develop processes which minimize cost, maximize use of production equipment, and provide high quality product performance. Develop and write technical reports.
Will support corporate safety initiatives. Collect and analyze product failure statistics, identify root causes of failures.
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Chemical engineering plus at least a year of experience working in a Quality department. Experience with hot metals is a must, but will look at people who have worked in extruded materials, casting, rolling. Should have up to date experience with ISO9001 and AS9100. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Advanced degrees are welcome, but are not considered a replacement for at least a year of paid, post-graduation industrial experience. US Citizen or US Permanent Resident only.
